Prashna Shastra
Prashna Shastra
If a native is not aware of his/her date, time and place of birth, should he/she be deprived of the benefits of the Vedic Astrology? The reply to the question is No because if a person has a “Query” then there is a bound to have a “Reply” to it. A branch of Vedic Astrology deals with giving reply to a query where without having a date, time and place of birth of a native, the date, time and place of a query is taken for giving reply or answer to the query by an Astrologer. Such branch of Astrology which deals with giving definite answers to a query of a querist without being dependent upon the date, time and place of birth of the native seeking the reply is Prashna Shastra. When the Astrologer applies rules / principles of Prashna Shastra to a Kundali prepared at the time when a querist made such a query, an Astrologer is applying the science of Horary Shastra to answer the query of the querist. It is also a definite science. The giving of answers / replies to a query of a querist also involves some divinity and different Astrologers use different methods/ techniques to give answers to the query.
For Example, an Astrologer might ask the querist to bring a lighted lamp whenever the querist visits the Astrologer seeking the reply to his/her query. The Astrologer by looking at the flame and the other parameters of the lamp will reply to the query of the querist or the Astrologer places several seats around himself and the querist choosing a particular seat will lead the Astrologer to the reply.
At times Vedic Astrology as well as Prashna Shastra are used in tandem with each other in order to give the reply to the query of the querist. Prashna Shastra is useful in giving replies about recovery of stolen property, foreign transfers / postings in a job, possibility of a termination / promotion in a job, result of competitive exams or future prospective of a new business or venture, success or failure of an operation, child birth, fate of dispute or litigations, etc. The reply to a query replied by Prashna Shastra remains valid for a period of one year.
